Research Interests:

My primary research focus has been on the investigation of inherited diseases and traits in cats and more recently dogs. I am not invested in any particular suite of disorders or species as much as the opportunity to work with owners, breeders, investigators, and students to identify the underlying genetic cause of inherited disorders. My underlying goal is to expand the resources available to the public to improve breeds.

I am also passionate about developing resources to aid in species management for Zoos. Projects have included parentage for cheetahs, chimpanzees, giraffes, lions, and pythons as well as sex determination for cape porcupines and capybara.

• Sebaceous Adenitis in Akita
• The genetic cause of Neonatal Isoerythrolysis in horses.
